I love playing video games. I love reading books. So you should be able to understand why I would really love to read books about video games. Last year, we saw a large number of video game worlds expanded in book form. 2012 isn’t going to be any different; a new novel has already been announced. Del Ray, an imprint of the Random House Publishing Group, announced today that a second novel based on the Hitman series will be released in North America this summer. The book, Hitman: Damnation, will be written by author Raymond Benson (known in the gaming community for his video game novels like Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell and Homefront: The Voice of Freedom whom he co-wrote with John Milius).
The story will take place between Hitma: Blood Money and the upcoming Hitman: Absolution. Agent 47 has to assassinate high-level American political figures. While doing so he notices that some aspects of the mission don’t add up. What awaits him is a world full of lies, deceit, and murder. Riveting stuff!
Other than “this summer”, there is no release date yet. That’s just like Agent 47; you’ll never see him coming…
